We see time and time again how dangerous working from heights can be. Injuries sustained by contractors falling from heights are often times very serious, and sometimes even fatal.
The OH&S division of Nova Scotia’s Department of Labour is launching a health and safety awareness campaign aimed at contractors and those who hire contractors to work from heights, to make sure they know the risks and are prepared.
The Department will be providing rack cards with important information and quick questions people can ask contractors to make sure they know how to work at heights safely. The information will be available to homeowners and multi-residential developers alike, and will be presented in a way that anyone can understand them.
We do hope this helps to reduce the risk, as the busy construction season approaches.
