We were fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with Gabriela Palermo, Operations Manager of AG Construction, in our series highlighting our amazing Accredited Contractors.

It was a natural fit as Gabriela stated, “our most significant asset is our people, which is why safety is an integral part of our job.” She continued that AG Construction is “concerned for the wellbeing of our employees and are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment by providing active leadership, support, and a willingness to co-operate with employees to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements.”
Pursuing an accreditation with ContractorCheck allows their clients to understand the importance of implementing health and safety within an organization, and gives them the confidence in knowing that their organization is compliant with legislative health and safety requirements, further committing to a safer work environment.
When asked about seasonal tips that apply when it comes to the type of work AG Construction specializes in, Gabriela responded, “Outdoor construction doesn’t stop during the winter months, therefore the buildup of icicles can become falling object hazards as they break loose and fall from dangerous heights. It is important to knock off any icicles that have formed or cordon off the area.”
As all construction projects bear some degree of risk, it’s of the utmost importance to enforce health and safety policies and protocols on projects to prevent accidents, which is paramount for both employees and the company.
